Diaconal Ministry, sometimes called "Mercy Ministry", is portrayed in Scripture as an ordinary and ongoing part of a healthy church.
Deacons and their assistants follow the example of Jesus in his compassion and care for the practical needs of people. They lead the congregation in serving those who are in need, the sick, the vulnerable, and any who may be in distress. The Diaconal Team helps the church to fulfill the call of Galatians 6:10 as we seek to do good to all people, both in the church and the community.
