Throughout Scripture, we see that people are invited to go to God with our deepest doubts and as a church, we are serious about listening to doubt and questions. Part of the way we seek to do that is by holding an Open Discussion every six weeks during our Sunday Worship. Open Discussions are a form of teaching where we have a time of open Q&A led and moderated by the pastor during the worship service. On these Sunday’s we have something of a pared down liturgy that still includes sung worship, Scripture reading, and prayer. In place of the normal sermon and celebration of the Lord’s Supper, we have an informal Q&A dialogue.
The motto of the Open Discussions is "Honest Answers to Honest Questions." During these times we explore issues of faith raised by questions from those in attendance and we seek to give Biblical responses to those questions. Believer, unbeliever, unsure, skeptic, atheist, or even antagonistic - all have questions and all are welcome.
